Event
Snyder Family Band @ Roots Revival Stage
On June 17, we welcome Snyder Family Band to the Roots Revival Stage, the free community concert series component of our Wednesday night worship service. The evening will begin at 7:30. This event is free and open to the public, but you'll need to reserve a spot. We will be collecting food for our Loaves & Fishes community ministry, specifically canned fruit and cereal.
The Snyder Family Band of Lexington, NC, features the talents of siblings Zeb and Samantha Snyder. Their dad, Bud, backs them on upright bass. Mom, Laine, occasionally joins in with harmony vocals, and eight-year-old Owen also makes special appearances singing or playing guitar. The Snyder Family Band delivers a fresh and exciting sound in a family-friendly show that is sure to delight all ages and audiences.
Roots Revival is a service of worship grounded in Americana/roots-based music at Centenary United Methodist Church. We strive to be an open space for people to engage in a participatory worship experience. Each service is centered on one or more "focus songs" and an accompanying Bible passage that drive the theme of the evening. We use everything from old hymns and spirituals to songs by Leonard Cohen, Mumford and Sons, Gillian Welch, U2, and more. We meet each Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. Roots Revival Stage is our community concert series, which has featured Rhiannon Giddens of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Jonathan Byrd, Dar Williams, The Amigos, David Holt, and more.
