'Sweet' Summer Solstice Potluck
Join Slow Food Chicago and the Chicago Honey Coop members and friends for our annual potluck supper at the Chicago Honey Coop. Tours will be given of this inner-city bee-hive farm located on the site of the original Sears headquarters in Chicago. There will be Salmon from Plitts Seafood. Beer and Soft drinks from Goose Island Brewery, and bread from Cook Au Vin. Bring a chair and a potluck dish to share.
Chicago Honey Coop is an urban apiary dedicated to sustainable agricultural practices. This West Side bee farm houses about 100 chemical-free hives that provide ingredients for jars of honey, candles, moisturizing bars, lip balm, and a honey-sugar body scrub.
When: Raindate ~ June 20, 2010 (Check Slow Food Chicago website day of event. 4-7:00 pm.
Where: Chicago Honey Coop 3740 W. Fillmore.
Cost: $10.00 for Slow Food members and Honey Coop members + side dish or dessert. $15.00 for non-members + side dish or dessert. Children are free Tickets can be purchased at the door.
