Prost Amerika Town Hall
Welcome to the Soccer event of 2010. After the success of the first event with Adrian Hanauer and Jeremy St Louis, the second Prost Amerika Town Hall event will have another star studded line up.
US Legend and Sounders captain Kasey Keller has played in England, Spain and Germany before returning to be the first ever captain of Sounders FC. Kasey also played over 100 times for the USA and is an authority on international football. Kasey has seen it all, from the hotbed of Millwall FC with its notorious right-wing support to Rayo Vallecano FC in a historically left wing part of Madrid, via the Bundesliga where his singing got him into trouble, but made him a legend at Borussia Monchengladbach. Now he is a legend in Seattle. His tales and forthright views have already added an off pitch reality to his unequaled popularity on the pitch.
Gary Wright was the Seahawks' public relations director and vice president of administration for the 32 years, which brought him the honour of inducting Steve Largent into the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame. With the arrival of MLS, Gary was cajoled out of retirement to bring his incredible knowledge and experience to the real football, a sport he fell in love with at the World Cup in 1998. He is Sounders FC's first VP of Operations, though that doesn't even begin to sum up his role in the organization. No-one in North America knows more about the business of sport than Gary, and we are delighted he has agreed to share that knowledge with you. Gary was named MLS Executive of Year.
Arlo White was a match commentator for the BBC before becoming the 'David Beckham of broadcasting' and becoming the highest profile ever catch for MLS. Arlo has commentated on the Superbowl and cricket as well. His knowledge of international football makes him the ideal guest with the World Cup weeks away, but his initial impression of Sounders FC will be fascinating in the search to find out how the club appears to the outside, especially globally. Arlo has a deep seated love affair with the USA, but that love will be sorely tested when the USA Men's Team beat England in the World Cup.
No-one wants the USA to beat England in the World Cup more than Steve Clare, the Scottish editor of Prost Amerika Soccer, the only site ever to win the ECS Match Reporter of the Year Award. Having covered the club for four years, he has gained the respect of the hard core for promoting the game in good times and bad, while entertaining a whole new audience in 2009. He also hosts the Radio Sounders show, Seattle's only independent soccer broadcast. Steve wrote an article for the MLS Cup Final program and his work has been translated into Spanish, Swedish and German. He has been a regular guest on the Fox Soccer Channel. He is now MLS Examiner and a member of the North American Soccer Reporters, the elite group who vote on the MLS Player of the Week.
The event will be hosted by Matt Gaschk, the Sounders FC insider who is the electronic voice of the Sounders. Matt covered the Seattle Sounders for the PI and upon the formation of the MLS franchise, was snapped up by the new club. To his undoubted writing skills, he has added a common touch and is very comfortable around the fans at organized events, especially if they are held in pubs!
