UTS Presents "Dead Man's Cell Phone"
Written by Sarah Ruhl Directed by Mike Jones
A woman, Jean, sits in a cafe waiting for her life to begin. A phone rings incessantly, unanswered. A dead man, Gordon, sits at a table nearby, staring longingly at a bowl of lobster bisque. Answering the call (because when something rings you have to answer it, don't you?) Jean finds herself an intimate member of someone else's life without any idea of how they lived it. A meditation on life, loss, love and the way we push each other away by growing ever closer.
