Uncle Pecos at The Old Feed Store
Grab yer sweetie and head to The Old Feed Store Valentines' weekend and kick it up Barnside to southern Illinois newest country music band Uncle Pecos!
A great group of musicians have joined forces to bring a great classic county mix together. Uncle Pecos consists of Nate Graham as co-vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Tim Whiteford as the other co-lead vocalist and pedal steel guitarist, Mickey Soltys on lead guitar and fiddle, Brian Plate on piano and organ, Mike Alderfer on bass and vocals, and Jimmy Beers on drums. In a recent interview, Uncle Pecos described their mix: "Classic country is the sound we're going for. Whether or not we achieve that is up to the audience to decide. Our repertoire is a mix of country music all the way from the 1940s to today. We play some relatively popular songs popular in the fifties, sixties, and seventies as well as a lot of B-side tunes, some lesser-known current music, and a few originals. No pop country!
Nate brings a lot of newer, more underground-country tunes to our set list by guys like Sturgill Simpson, and I tend to dig up old obscure songs by guys like Moon Mullican and Frank Ifield." Doors and kitchen open at 7pm, Show begins at 8.. A BYO event Personal coolers only and We Card Hard!
