HAIR
HAIR is a musical story of liberation, freedom, community and peace and acts as a bridge between generations and viewpoints. This show has a vitality, a timelessness and a meaning that outlives the late 1960s and early 1970s in America, where the story takes place. A product of the hippie counterculture and sexual revolution of the 1960s, several of its songs became anthems of the anti-Vietnam War peace movement. This production of HAIR will have an ALL FEMALE cast to highlight the liberation of women and to represent the women being drafted into a war of sexism in America. This production will also highlight the war on people of color in America. Women of color are strongly encouraged to audition. This production will focus on the idea of true peace, uniting and liberating women of all walks of life, systematic oppression, and sexual and political revolution.
