Demons
The Italian entry into the 1980s punk rock zombie canon, Demons was directed by Lamberto Bava, son of the Italian horror master Mario Bava, and produced by Bava's mentor, Dario Argento.
Set in Berlin's Metropol theater, Demons centers on two young girls who receive free tickets to a special screening of a new horror film. Things take a turn for the gruesome when, after scratching herself on a bizarre mask, one of the heroines is transformed into a bloodthirsty demon.
Soon, as the theater descends into an orgy of horrors, cinema patrons are forced to battle for their lives as one by one they are transformed into vicious monsters.
With a score comprised of heavy metal and punk artists, including Billy Idol, Montley Crü, and Claudio Simonetti, Demons kicked off another one of the longest franchises to emerge out of the Italian Zombie movement with no less than 5 sequels spanning throughout the 1980s.
