Sally Mayes & Rex Reed Celebrate Tony Season with a Teaser for IRA WITHOUT GEORGE
Enjoy live music, free-flowing drinks and appetizers, and the beautiful gardens and art-work in the Laguna Nursery, an undoubtedly unique setting for live entertainment... on Saturday, June 5, 2010.
Sally Mayes made her Broadway debut in Cy Coleman's WELCOME TO THE CLUB and is perhaps best known for her performance in the revival of SHE LOVES ME, which won Ms. Mayes Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominations. The New York Times calls Mayes "a singer of incandescent ebullience, deliciously saucy."
And... special guest Rex Reed makes an appearance to sing a song or two from his newest concert, IRA WITHOUT GEORGE, honoring the songs Ira Gershwin wrote without his brother George. This concert is currently touring the country with performances in New York, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas and more. Sally Mayes is one of the many vocalists in this concert, along with a rotating cast that includes Polly Bergen, Tom Wopat, Linda Purl, James Naughton, Marilyn Maye, and Kurt Reichenbach with musical direction by Tedd Firth.
Saif Eddin warms you up starting at 7:00pm. Performances by Sally Mayes and Rex Reed shortly thereafter with accompaniment by Wayne Abravanel.
