A fundraiser for Zimbabwe featuring Silas Beardslee
Come and join us for an evening of music in the name of social change. Silas Beardslee & the Global Citizens will perform their special blend of folk, reggae and twisted bluegrass to raise money for and awareness of a developing agricultural initiative in rural Zimbabwe.
Made possible by a coincidental meeting that grew into a brotherhood, Silas will be moving to Zimbabwe to support a village in starting a biodynamic community farm that will not only strive to feed families but also provide a foundation for healthy social development among the people.
Silas, who attended elementary school and high school in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire, has spent much of his time working in Zimbabwe over the past few years, forming a deep understanding of the region and its people.
With the help of the traditional leaders of the village, lands will be allocated and host to a biodynamic farm, uniting years of pre-existing knowledge with new impulses to create a healthy and sustainable source of food and jobs.
Joining Silas will be singer/songwriter Mia Govoni, a student at Boston's Berklee College of Music and the Featured Artist at a Studio 99 Open Mic over the winter.
Come join us for good music with a good atmosphere for a good cause!
