5/2010 - Fake Radio Presents: An Evening of Police Thrillers
"Slickly professional in every particular..." The LA Times
"A palpable sense of infectious goofiness..." The LA Weekly
For nearly 10 years, "Fake Radio" has been presenting its comedic take on classic radio shows from "The Golden Age" of radio. Our unique blend of original broadcast scripts along with unexpected improvised dialogue has been delighting audiences and critics for years.
We now invite you to join us for the continuation of our 2010 season with episodes from two of the greatest Police Crime Drama series of the Golden Age: Dragnet and Calling All Cars.
Calling All Cars "The Execution of John Dillinger", which originally aired in July of 1934 tells the story of how Public Enemy Number One was finally brought to justice after a nation-wide crime spree!
Dragnet "The Big Sisters", which originally aired in 1955 tells the story of how a couple of old women helped Sgt. Joe Friday and Officer Frank Smith to apprehend a burglar who had a penchant for thieving and stealing!
We'll see you at the theatre!
