Topsy-Turvy: Two Queer One-Acts
Do gay men really just go from trick to trick in pursuit of more hot action? Do lesbians really bring a potluck dish on the first date? Heck no!! All of your stereotypes about queer love get turned upside down in Topsy-Turvy: Two Queer One-Acts by Kenneth Alford and Maureen Bogues. Boys want love and girls want sex in these two romantic comedies that explore love in an airport and lust on the internet.
"lost.found." by Kenneth Alford/Directed by Emily Lou There is an airport with an indoor gardener named Charlie. Charlie loves plants but hates getting rained on. There is also a chorus boy named Billie. Billie uses the airport like a living room as he chases his career across the country. There are arrivals and missed connections. There are real plants in fake courtyards. And there is love - between a quiet, simple gardener and a loud, complicated chorus boy. No one understands what's happening in the enchanted forest of Terminal B. It seems things are spinning out of control.
"Coming Out Blonde" by Maureen Bogues/Directed by Joe Weatherby Two movie-obsessed women on an internet date discover that the pursuit of Ms. Right, or perhaps Ms. Right Now, can be as bizarre and frightening as a Hitchcock film. Will Gina be able to control her potty mouth and therefore become more kissable? Will Sandy let her hair down and reveal her true fantasies? See "Coming Out Blonde" and find out.
