Lorem Ipsum: Owners
Caryl Churchill wrote Owners in 1972. It's a two-act, 14-scene play about obsession with power, a critique of the values that most capitalists take for granted: being aggressive, getting ahead, doing well. As director Nick Schroeder told us in an interview: "Owners is this big, fat, disgusting, complicated allegory about the notion of property, and how it can very quickly corrupt some basic human relationships. It's played out by these very vivid, larger-than-life characters who supposedly love each other, but everything is buried under the surface. And there's a lot of meat."
