The Tempest
Directed by Clare Moncrief. Our season ends with our annual All Things Shakespeare student training production.
Betrayed by his brother, the Duke Prospero and his baby daughter Miranda are exiled to a mysterious island inhabited only by creatures of the spirit world. As the years pass, Miranda grows into a beautiful, but totally innocent young woman, who has never seen another human than her father. Prospero learns powerful sorcery and ensnares two very special island creatures to serve him. As the play opens, Prospero uses his magic to create a powerful ocean storm, to wreck the ship carrying the brother who betrayed him, as well as the King, his son and his entourage. The men are washed onto the shores of Prospero's island and into his power. With these men's lives finally in his hands, will Prospero seek vengeance or something else?
