The Everlasting Bonfire
What is a playwright to do? The villain is a charming scoundrel who does not receive his comeuppance, and the hero a neurotic never-was who dreams of throwing himself into deep waters. To make matters worst, the witches from Macbeth are morphing into the ghosts from A Christmas Carol and a mad scientist named Shakespeare is threatening to steal the plot. The Everlasting Bonfire looks at one playwright's efforts to create a gothic horror production about the American Tragedian Edwin Forrest while wrestling with the nature of collaboration, ownership, the infuriation of writer's block, and the intoxication of breaking through.
