HERMAN'S HYPE (Herman Green + mbrs of Midwest Hype) http://www.midwesthype.com/ A very special intimate jam session with Herman Green and members of Midwest Hype.
Low Spark http://lowsparkmusic.com/ A relentlessly grooving quartet based out of Chicago. Drawing from a wide range of influences, they deliver a contemporary fusion sound characterized by deep funk grooves, extended high-energy solos, as well as pleasant, melodic hooks. Known best for their electrifying live performance, Low Spark aims to please with a highly original, confident act that sets the tone for their future. They have shared bills with the likes of Bernie Worrell Orchestra, New Sound Underground, Gene Ween, Blackalicious, The Monophonics, Kris Lager Band, Genome and many more. Low Spark was recently featured in Relix Magazine's December 2013 mixtape and aims to spread the word further!
Gramps The Vamp http://www.grampsthevamp.com/ Gramps The Vamp tells a surreal story using sinister afrobeat-influenced funk grooves, strongman horn lines, and apocalyptic utterances from the dark corners of classic sci-fi and horror radio. The result is DOOM FUNK: an unmistakeable stew that both makes you want to dance and raise an eyebrow. Assembled by Keyboardist Maxx McGathey in the fall of 2011, Gramps The Vamp arose from its sweaty house party roots to become a staple in the Chicago music scene, regularly playing prominent venues such as the Double Door, Martyrs, and Metro. The band has received several media distinctions including Best New Band 2013 in the Chicago Reader's Best Of Chicago, and Deli Chicago's band of the month in September 2014.
