Pink Tractor Farm Dinner 2/8/15 5:30pm
Chef/Farmer David Hatfield, his wife Katie and son Everett are excited to invite you back to their 2nd Farm to Table event.
Simply put, we are amazed at how much food we can generate on our small farm and look forward to sharing with you. We will be focusing on the winter bounty of the farm which includes lots and lots of protein; think eggs, goose, chicken, pork, duck. Everett will even have a surprise course to present to you all. Expect 5-6 courses and some education on our farming practices, history of courses and preparation techniques. We set a big family style table but you get your own individual plated courses.
here is a peek at the menu. *Goose Liver pate, baguette, pickled yellow water melon rind *Tunisian Brik with smoked Island trout, egg yolk, caper, tomatillo *Curried pumpkin veloute with apple dumpling *Indian Corn polenta, crispy guanciale, farmstead cheese *Cassoulet with chorizo, chicken and lamb *Salted Butter Creme Caramel
We will be doing our best to source as many ingredients from our farm or the island.
Again, we will have some great wines, not the least of which is from Cooper Wine Company on Red Mountain. http://www.cooperwinecompany.com/ We will also hope to have some special sips from some of our island partners.
We will begin promptly at 5:30 and will finish by 8 (to help with the ferry planning) and you are again welcome to bring a special bottle if you would like.
If you are interested, I always suggest checking VRBO.com for rental options as often times this time of year there are 1 night houses available that way, no worrying about the ferry!.
