About Eve radiates undimmed through the years. The role of aging stage star Margo Channing is
considered by many to be the best of Bette Davis's career. Anne Baxter is marvelous as the subtle
Eve, whose glowing enthusiasm masks a cold, calculated ambition. Celeste Holm is perfect as the
well-intentioned friend caught between these two combative women. The film took 14 nominations,
winning seven of them, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. USA, 1950, 139 min.
Celeste Holm first achieved fame for her performance as Ado Annie in the original 1943 production of Oklahoma. She has appeared
in countless classic Hollywood movies, including Gentleman's Agreement, Road House, The Snake Pit, A Letter to Three Wives, The
Tender Trap, and High Society; as well as numerous acclaimed performances on stage and TV.
