BRAVE NEW MUSIC presents SZYMANOWSKI QUARTET
Brave New Music presents one of the most exceptional string quartets of its generation. The Szymanowski Quartet from Warsaw will perform Nocturne and Tarantella by their namesake Karol Szymanowski, who was a major influence on composers such as Bartok, Prokofiev, and Stravinsky. Also on the program is the Quartet No.4 by the brilliant Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz. A highlight of the evening will surely be a transcription of the ever popular "Pictures at an Exhibiton" by Modest Mussorsky.
The Szymanowski Quartet has played to critical acclaim in the greatest concert halls of Europe, the United States, Asia, Australia and South America. Their heartfelt playing along with the complete technical mastery they possess is sure to make for a memorable performance.
The beautiful Grange Room at SHED provides for a warm and acoustically superb space in which to hang out with world-class musicians in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying a glass of local wine or craft beer.
