THE DREAM by Kenny Yun
The Marsh is proud to announce Kenny Yun's THE DREAM as part of its Festival of New Voices.
The two-week Festival is the culmination of The Marsh Performance Initiative, a nine-month model for performance development taking into account both the artistic development and the business aspects of developing new theater.
There will be six, new full-length solo works, all from up-and-coming performers, and 11 shorter works. Also, two established Marsh performers, Don Reed and Ann Randolph, have been invited to use the Festival as an impetus to start new work.
Each full-length piece will have four performances at the Festival. The shorter works will be performed twice each, preceding the full-length works.
There's a new immigrant story being played out in Silicon Valley. Success is not what it used to be! Yun's new show explores the lengths people go to chase a skewed American dream and to keep up with the Joneses. A Bay Area actor and comic, Yun studied at Studio ACT and Berkeley Repertory Theater and has a degree in English Literature from UC Berkeley. His critically acclaimed first solo play, "Lettucetown Lies," had an extended run at The Marsh last year. Here is what some of the critics had to say: "Best Solo Show 2009" Bay Area Reporter; "Funny yet poignant." SF Examiner; "Astounding. A pleasure to watch." SF Bay Times.
Scheduled with the following shorter works:
THE DEAD OF WINTER FOREST by Jojo Razor: Thursday, June 3 & Friday, June 11
JURASSIC ARK by David Caggiano: Saturday, June 5 & Wednesday, June 9
