Pictures 2010
Join the New Jersey Arts Collective for PICTURES 2010, an afternoon of chamber music inspired by visual art. The concert features premiere performances of the winning pieces from the 5th Annual NJAC Student Composition Contest. The 2010 contest asked NJ students to write music inspired by Whirlwind, a sculpture by Jonathon Scott Hartley displayed in the Montclair Art Museum. Guest artists, John McMurtery (flute), Brett Deubner (viola) and Kimberly Burja (percussion) will perform works by these talented students, who represent the best of NJ's young composers. In addition, the trio will premiere the 2010 Ionisation Commission WHIRLWIND, a new work by New Jersey's own Amanda Harberg. Don't miss this exciting event!
Join us at 1pm to hear a pre-concert panel featuring Contest Winners and members of the Contest Jury.
