Mescal También
It is said, "Para todo mal, Mescal, y para todo bien, también." For all things good, Mescal, and for all things bad, as well.
In this unique educational tasting, we'll explore and appreciate Tequila's older brother: Mescal is the broader category of distilled agave, and Tequila is the most popular instance of it. But Mescal, typically smokier and often more layered and complex than Tequila, is gaining in popularity for a reason, both on its own, and in cocktails. Mescal is a wonderful journey to embark upon for whiskey lovers!
In Mescal También, we'll taste a range of Mescals, including several made from wild Maguey (agave) plants and single Maguey species. We'll have some rare bottles of Mescal that are produced in small quantities once a year from wild and other special Maguey plants.
The tasting includes an introduction to Mescal and how it's made, and we'll taste mescals that are young and aged, domesticated and wild, smokey and smooth, varietals and blends.
You'll leave Mescal También with a new appreciation of the beauty and complexity of Mescal, and a warm glow!
