An evening of Guitar Trios with the Michael Anthony Trio and the Dan Dowling Trio
Michael Anthony: Michael Anthony is a musician's musician. Michael Anthony built his reputation and his chops as a professional studio musician and can be heard on the albums of Tony Bennett, Nelson Riddle, Burt Bacharach, The Beach Boys, Diana Ross, to name a few. You might know his licks from such songs as "Theme from Mahogany," and "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." He accompanied music legends such as Gil Evans, Quincy Jones, Blue Mitchell, and Miles Davis at the 1965 Monterey Jazz Festival. Anthony's discography includes seven album-length recordings. Tonight he appears with his trio Milo Jaramillo, bass and Andrew Poling on drums.
Dan Dowling: Seven-string guitarist Dan Dowling is a veteran jazz and blues musician who has been performing in combos ranging in size from duo to big band for the last three decades. He has appeared on many festival concert stages, as well as countless nightclub venues. Dan was one of the five finalists in the Heritage International Jazz Guitar Competition of 1996, and was named" Best Unsigned Blues Artist" in 1995 by the Nashville Music City Blues Society. He is also known for his work with the bands Alma and Cadillac Bob and the Rhinestones. Dan will be joined this evening by John Griffin on bass and Mike Fleming on drums.
