Slow Food Sacramento Presents Common Table: Urban Ag Feast 2010
Slow Food Sacramento presents the second annual Common Table: Urban Ag Fest. This year's event is held at Soil Born Farms American River Ranch, a 25-acre organic farm overlooking the American River. The evening begins with the Farm Tour Reception ($25/person) at 4 p.m. featuring wine, appetizers and a farm tour highlighting Soil Born Farm's role in the local farm-to-table organic movement, which is changing our food system by increasing the availability of high quality, locally produced food for all segments of the Sacramento.
The Farm-to-Table Dinner ($75/person before May 15 and $85/person for nonmembers after May 15) begins at 5:30 p.m. with a white table cloth catered dinner out in the fields by Dionisio and Terese Esperas of A Healthy Kitchen; three-courses feature fresh foods from the farm. Evening also includes a live auction with the opportunity to bid on food, cooking, and dining related items. All proceeds benefit Soil Born Farms food access projects.
Note: Please bring a hat, sunglasses and flash light.
