Event
Savory Thymes and Mark Growden
The extraordinary multi-talented California recording artist Mark Growden "fiery, earthy and sublimely sensual" performing from his outstanding just-released CD "Saint Judas" as well as new compositions. Mark is a composer, singer, and voracious instrumentalist (playing horns, strings, the accordion as you've never heard it before and the bicycle handlebars as no one has ever heard it before.) Representing a return to a simpler model of musicianship that has historically been supported by patrons, Mark has chosen to avoid mega-concerts in sports arenas and commercially hyped downloads in favor of a direct and authentic connection with his audience: a return to what might be called "Slow Performance." Mark has been described as "The Bay Area's best-kept secret."
Mark will be joined by his San Francisco Quartet: Mark Growden - voice, accordion, banjo, saxophone, handlebars Chris Grady - trumpet Alex Kelly - cello Lisa Mezzacappa -upright bass
There will be an opportunity at the end of the evening to make a contribution in support of Mark's work.
