Cameron Cooke Quartet
Born in Iowa and raised in North Carolina, Cameron Cook first started playing saxophone in middle school, quickly falling in love with the power and beauty of the instrument. During his formative years he has admired and absorbed the influence of many tenor saxophone greats, like Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and Joe Henderson, in addition to studying with local legends Dave Finucane and Stephen Riley. In his music, Cameron wishes to approach the jazz genre from a variety of different angles to highlight jazz's ability to absorb different styles and yet retain the feeling and spirit of jazz.
