The Seattle Sex Positive Community center is thrilled to bring The Wet Spots back to Seattle and equally thrilled that they will be joined by one of our favorite burlesque troupes, The Von Foxies.
The Wet Spots, probably best know for their song, "Do you take it in the . . .?" will delight and titillate you. Inspired by Cole Porter, Monty Python, and Tenacious D, The Wet Spots are known for their lively shows, which feature spankings, sing-alongs, and bawdy sex-ed. Few are indifferent when it comes to their genre-busting act. They have won critical acclaim for their "outrageously clever lyrics" (Georgia Straight) and "sophisticated showmanship" (Vancouver Sun). They have also been called "utterly without substance" and accused of "lowering the tone of the evening" (Cape Town Times). Confirming both opinions, their new album Hello Kinky (2006) has become a favorite on queer radio AND the Howard Stern network. The Von Foxies are Seattle's hottest burlesque power-trio: Pidgeon Von Tramp, Heidi Von Haught and Elsa Von Schmaltz. They have honed their skills under the bright lights of the Emerald City stages and have been taking their little town by storm since November of '04. These kinky minxes enjoy playing with the boundaries of sexuality, gender and decency while engaging in their distinctive brand of bait 'n switch bump 'n grind. They adore burlesque in all its forms- traditional bombshell beauty, queer gender-f*ck draglesque, hilariously naughty satire and politically powerful theatre.
