Zing Go the Strings: A World of String Music
Town Hall's annual program celebrating a world of string music presents Captain Gravel, Seattle's hottest bluegrass string band performing traditional and contemporary music on violin, bass, mandolin, banjo and guitar, along with stirring vocals. Joining them will be Correo Aereo, the distinguished duet of Madeleine Sosa and Abel Rocha, performing traditional music of Latin America on violin, bass and harp, along with vibrant vocals; and Marcia Takamura, a second generation master of the Japanese koto, a 13 string zither-like instrument. She was trained by her mother, Seattle's legendary koto player Kuniko Takamura, who will also perform. Downstairs at Town Hall, enter on Seneca Street.
