Blithe Spirit
Stage Door Theatrical Company presents "Blithe Spirit" dueing the Halloween season. "Blithe Spirit" is one of British playwright Noel Coward's best-loved comedies, incorporating his razor-sharp wit within the traditional English drawing room comedy genre.
The plot centers on Charles Condomine and his socially acceptable, though uninspiring, second wife, Ruth. While researching a novel on murderous fake mediums, Charles invites Madame Arcati to give a seance witnessed by him, Ruth, and another couple. However, instead of being a complete fraud, Madame Arcati conjures the spirit of Charles' first wife, the lively and spoiled Elvira, who proceeds to create chaos within the Condomine household as Charles must deal with this peculiar state of bigamy.
