Hello Summer! (and Goodbye Nancy)
It's the start of another Washingtonian summer--beautiful 80 degree days, zero humidity, and absolutely no man-eating snakefish lying in wait in the Potomac, grown monstrously large from a springtime buffet of cuter fish and fertilizer run-off.
Alas, it's also the last show of longtime Press Play member and all-around wonderful person Nancy Norman. Please help us send her off in style with a night of stand-up, music, and improv. The lineup:
* Stand-up by Brock Snyder * Improv from Dad Joke * Music by Tone * Improv from your hosts, Press Play
Tickets are $10 in advance, and a gazillion dollars at the door. Okay, they're $12, but we do suggest you buy them advance.
Performer Bios
Brock Snyder: Brock's comedy is like a bad tattoo--you had a great time while you were doing it and will somehow never forget. With high energy humor ranging from life under the rule of a controlling dance mom to extravagant and ridiculous sensual rendezvous across the city and beyond, he has the ability to bring comedy of any genre to crowds of any temperament.
Dad Joke: Combining 80 years of age, 15 years of improv, and 2 years of fatherhood, Dad Joke is Mikael Johnson and Marc Reber, two dudes relaying the experience of having families (or not) and children (or not) and how it has changed their life (or not).
Tone: Tone is an Artist, Songwriter, Activist, Washington DC Native, and Hip hop Caucus spoken person. Make sure you stay on the look out for his New Project and Book coming this summer 2016. Thisistone.com Instagram:aye_tone
Press Play: Press Play was founded in 2010 and, not to brag or anything, has yet to have a show with any form of flatulence-based humor. Seriously. This is not a joke. We keep track. Press Play has performed at venues across the country such as the LA Improv Festival, Steel Stacks, and the Del Close Marathon. We also perform regularly at improv theaters around DC, and once at a birthday party. The birthday boy threw cake.
