The lads are offering two workshops, running simultaneously, 3:30-5pm:
BODHRÁN WORKSHOP
Fergal Scahill, All Ireland champion on bodhrán, will offer an all-levels bodhrán workshop. As a terrific Irish fiddle player, Fergal is uniquely placed to demonstrate the basic principles of rhythm and also the subtleties of accompanying other musicians.
IRISH TENOR BANJO WORKSHOP
7-time All Ireland banjo champion Martin Howley is one of the finest exponents of Irish tenor banjo. This workshop will take participants through the very foundation techniques for effective playing. Issues such as missed notes, rhythm problems and picking will be addressed. The workshop will also demonstrate the use of ornamentation and variation to embellish tunes. Suitable for both tenor banjo and mandolin.
