Lt. Gen. Charles Jacoby: Progress and Challenges in Iraq
Just returned from a year-long deployment as commander of the multinational force in Iraq, Lt. Gen. Charles H. Jacoby Jr., commanding general of I Corps and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, will discuss Iraq's government-formation process, the security situation, and the prospects for a combat troop drawdown scheduled to be complete by the end of 2011. Jacoby's nomination as director of the Strategic Plans and Policy section of the Joint Staff is awaiting Senate confirmation. He will be interviewed by Lawrence Pintak, founding dean of the Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University as part of the college's ongoing series of conversations with influential figures from the US and beyond.
