"Hamilton" Benefit Performance
In celebration of its 250th anniversary, Morris-Jumel Mansion is teaming up with the Public Theater to present a special benefit performance of Hamilton, a raucous new musical written and played by Tony award winner, and vocal friend of the Mansion, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Fusing contemporary hip-hop and classic Broadway style, Hamilton charts the origins, rise and dramatic death of one of America's greatest minds; and on Thursday, February 5th, 2015, Morris-Jumel is giving history and theater lovers the chance to not only see the show, but also meet and talk with Mr. Miranda and the director, Tony-award nominee Thomas Kailfirst at a pre-show cocktail reception; and later at an intimate post-show Q&A.
Now on sale are three distinct ticket packages.
* The Exclusive experience, priced at $250, provides the attendee with a seat in the middle of the theater, an invitation to the post-show Q&A and free admission to the Mansion.

Soldier, polemicist, politico, banker and statesman, Alexander Hamilton had a hand in the making of nearly every major facet of the new-born republic. His is the American success story par excellence, and in telling it, Lin-Manuel Mirinda has produced a musical tour-de-force, mixing contemporary hip-hop lyricism with classic Broadway style. The musical stars Lin-Manuel as Hamilton, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Brian D'Arcy James as King George III, Daveed Diggs as both Thomas Jefferson and the Marquise de Lafayette, and Leslie Odom Jr. as Hamilton's nemesis, Aaron Burr.
