Editing Aesthetics Workshop with Sabrina Nelson!
Learn professional editing techniques and the how-to's of making your film look amazing on screen. This class will focus on the basics of editing for story and visual continuity.
Class Highlights: - The Five Methods for Establishing Visual Continuity - Intellectual and Metric Montage Theories - Sound for Continuity
To put these concepts into real-world context, we will be looking at YOUR own work! Everyone should bring a ONE minute segment from a film they have worked on and Sabrina will break down the segment and talk about the editing. Ideally, these segments should have at least 10 cuts and feature a good mix of action and narrative dialog. They MUST be in QuickTime format (data cds, data dvds, hard drives, or flash drives). Please do not bring authored dvds or editing projects, this is not a class on software, but a class on how to cut.
We understand everyone may not have their own material to bring, but all students will benefit from watching the editing process!
Instructor Bio: Sabrina Nelson is a professional editor who has taught editing for the past ten years. She has also worked with Continental Cablevision, CSPAN, Sportschannel America, BattleBots, and Meets The Eye Films.
