Comedy Night Live at the Orpheum Theatre Foxboro
Comedy Night Live at the Orpheum Theatre Foxboro April 24th at 8:00pm, featuring Boston favorites DJ Hazard, TTTom Clarke, Chris Fleming, and Peter Bowers.
A founding member of the infamous Ding Ho Club, (whose members include Steven Wright, Bobcat Goldthwait, Paula Poundstone and Denis Leary) DJ Hazard went on to tour nearly all of North America, achieving near cult status along the way. He is currently working on his tenth film, The Lost Children, directed by Mark Harris. He can be seen in the award winning films Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story, Bourbon and Cold Calls and has just wrapped shooting on 'Evie', 'Untied' and 'Muttnik'. His long-awaited third CD, "Man of Hazardium," is available now.
TTTom Clarke has a slight stutter that disappears when his comedic voices hit the stage. Tom has been in the spotlight for two decades. His began comedy in the early 80's doing group sketch comedy. He then broke out on his own in the stand up world of Boston. The demands for originality in humor, presence and voice allowed Tom to hone his comedic skills that have taken him far. His stand out stand up career has allowed him to travel coast to coast and beyond. He has headlined from Florida to North Dakota, to Canada and the cruise ships of Europe.
Clark delighted audiences nationwide on television’s “An Evening at the Improv” and has since launched another career as TV commercial spokesperson and voice over actor. Tom’s experience, showmanship, and humor make him a voice to be heard and enjoyed throughout the national comedy scene.
Chris Fleming made an impression, speaking a kind of seemless nonsense in an English accent, and doing an impression of birds trying to attract a mate that sent MacFarland from the room trying to control her laughter. The image of Fleming bent backwards, kicking up one leg, and squawking apparently stayed with MacFarland -- she mentioned the bit later on in her own set. You should probably see it live.
Being English, Peter Bowers brings an international flavor to the US comedy scene, sometimes making you think you are watching Masterpiece Theatre or BBC America. He began performing in sketch comedy as an undergraduate at Trinity College, Cambridge in the 1960s, and in 2002 returned to the stage after a thirty five year absence, during which time he moved to the USA, narrowly avoiding having to become European. Peter’s rants include bits about growing up in England during WWII (even before it was clear who was going to win), gossipy stuff about the Royals, snippets of Shakespeare, and all the perils of being a senior citizen. He claims to be the oldest stand up comedian in New England, and plans to perform for many more years.
