Join World Savvy on our inaugural Savvy Citizens Tour - a chance for you to experience up close the exciting experiential learning that World Savvy offers to students from around New York City.2:00 - Meet your World Savvy Tour Guides at The Bean Coffee and Tea at 49 ½ 1st Avenue.2:15-4:00 - Dive into the rich immigration history of the Lower East Side of Manhattan as we explore the First Houses, witness landmarks left behind by diverse waves of immigrants, and broaden your horizons right here in New York City.4:00 - Shuttles will transport us back to the home of Neil and Nancy Humphreys at 222 Riverside Drive (at 94th Street).4:30-6:00 - Enjoy cocktails and conversation at the Humphreys, and learn more about World Savvy's global education programming here in NYC and across the country.This tour was originally planned as a field trip for a middle school classroom. Since that first trip, World Savvy has brought high school photography classes, middle school creative writing classes, and more to explore this vibrant neighborhood. World Savvy is an education non-profit committed to educating and engaging youth in community and world affairs.
