House Concert with Daniel Swayze and Morgan O' Shaughnessey
Pianist Daniel Swayze and Violist Morgan O'Shaughnessey are conspiring to create unique evening of great music and good food in an intimate, personal setting. The duo will trade their usual workaday fireworks of big halls and large ensembles for a warm sharing of their arts in the gentle setting of a stately living room. Their "house concert" will be directly followed by a friendly and classy receptionlocal wines paired with hand-crafted Italian delicacies by O'Shaughnessey.
The concert will take place at the beautiful home of Gary and Coralie Farnham in Ashland, OR on Friday, January 2nd, 2015, at 7pm. Exact address to be included in ticket. Non-flash photos and Twitterposters welcome. Kindly set cell phones to stun.
Works featured will include Schubert's "Arpeggione" Sonata, Beethoven's Op. 101 Piano Sonata,Bruch's "Kol Nidrei" and more.An evening such as this would not be complete without surprise special guest composer appearances! There may even be a cameo feature of one or more bizarre and beautiful folk instruments
The works being presented already speak volumes of the duo's artistry. However, you may rest assured that this will be an evening bursting its buttons with top-level professional performances. O'Shaughnessey and Swayze, both established artists in their mid-twenties, share almost forty years of concertizing between them. They have enjoyed many successful past collaborations and are old hands at performing together. Their vibrant, fun-loving, informative, and at times jocular stage presence brings added life and dimension to each piece they choose to present.
Swayze carries within his heart a strong desire to explore the intimacy of these sorts of house concerts. A musical alchemist, he dreams of combining high-level artistry, local talent, fine food, and an audience that talks back to produce a vibrant atmosphere of communitya stimulating social paradise where personality has free reign and all barriers between audience and performer are cast aside. O'Shaughnessey as well has always loved getting his music as close to his audience's ears as possible, even dancing among the tables at his local Irish pub. He works tirelessly to collaborate and perform with as many local musicians as possible, championing music as both a high art form of individual expression and as a universal language of community friendship.
