Soprano Rhoslyn Jones, Tenor Todd Wedge, Counter-Tenor Sam Siegel - Program of the 30th Jewish Music Festival
The 30th Jewish Music Festival presents Britten's Canticle II (a dramatic interpretation of the story of Abraham and Isaac), Halevy's La Juive, Ravel's Deux melodies hebraiques, and more, with brilliant Bay Area singers.

Complementary light refreshments will be served.

The young Canadian soprano Rhoslyn Jones is quickly becoming an important presence on both the Concert and Operatic stages of the world. Ms. Jones appeared as Roxane opposite Placido Domingo's Cyrano de Bergerac with San Francisco Opera, Musetta in La Boheme with Pittsburgh Opera, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin with Vancouver Opera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Chicago Opera Theater and the title role of Susannah with Arizona Opera. Ms. Jones also created the starring role of Julia Dent Grant in Phillip Glass's world premiere of Appomattox with the San Francisco Opera opposite Dwayne Croft and Andrew Shore. Ms. Jones was an Adler Fellow at San Francisco Opera.

Todd Wedge is currently the head of the vocal music department at the San Francisco School of the Arts - a public arts magnet school that specializes in pre-conservatory curriculum for both classical voice and musical theater. Mr. Wedge was a member of the GRAMMY award-winning men's ensemble Chanticleer for three life-changing years, where he helped bring audiences to their feet in over 200 cities and 13 different countries in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. Mr. Wedge can be heard on such Chanticleer albums as And on Earth, Peace: A Chanticleer Mass; Let it Snow; and The Best of Chanticleer. While living in Chicago, he was frequently featured as the tenor soloist in the oratorio works of Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Bach, and Mozart, and served as a young artist with the Chicago Opera Theatre.

Sam Siegel, a 15-year- old aspiring counter-tenor, began his musical training at age 7 when he joined the GRAMMY award-winning Pacific Boychoir. He has toured with the choir in South Africa, Russia, China, Spain and Brazil. In Rio De Janeiro, he was the featured alto soloist for Mozart's Requiem with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. He has also been a featured soloist in Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols (both in concert and filmed version), Schubert's Stanchen, and Handel's Messiah. Sam attends the San Francisco School of the Arts studying classical voice under department head Todd Wedge. In addition, he studies privately with Rhoslyn Jones.
