Sleigh Bells, Mr. Dream
Via Pitchfork: "One of the undeniable breakouts of last year's CMJ Music Marathon (and this year's SXSW) was a group that have yet to release a single piece of music: the discordant Brooklyn dancepop duo Sleigh Bells. The band came together when songwriter and producer Derek Miller, a veteran of Florida hardcore warriors Poison the Well, hooked up with singer Alexis Krauss, who spent time in the teenpop group RubyBlue before becoming a teacher at a Bronx public school."
Riding the coattails of the sold-out tour with Yeasayer and a coveted slot at the Coachella Music Festival, Sleigh Bells come to Coco 66 to headline their own intimate, comparatively small-capacity show.
Mr. Dream:
Long Island-based rockers Mr Dream deliver simple, three-chord post-punk ditties with lots of nods to the early glam rock anthem gods of the 1970's.
We are sorry to announce that MNDR will not be appearing at this show. A last-minute request from Massive Attack to open for their North American tour is taking her away to Canada.
