FIRST FRIDAY Music Series @ Galeria West with GRUPO YURI in concert

Since the inaugural concert in the summer of 2009 hundreds of music lovers have enjoyed the new FIRST FRIDAY Music Series, presented by TEATRO Si at the intimate Galeria West Art Gallery in downtown Westfield, NJ. This once a month live concert event continues to bring to the area a unique opportunity to enjoy a diversity of music genres as performed by a select series of renowned artists.
The FIRST FRIDAY events continue on Friday, April 2, 2010 at 7pm as acclaimed violinist Yuri Turchyn and his hot quintet Grupo Yuri bring to you their original Smooth and Latin jazz meets World Music sounds.
Grupo Yuri's passionate and superbly energetic original music has consistently been received with enthusiasm by concert patrons. This unique ensemble brings to you a sound that has been captivating audiences through out the tri-state area. After several hit jazz venue dates through out north and central New Jersey; including appearances at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, NJPAC, Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair, the Red Bank Jazz & Blues Festival, the Shanghai Jazz Club in Madison, Sweet Sounds Downtown in Westfield, several concert stage appearances with TEATRO S and other events the Grupo Yuri in concert experience promises to provide a unique artistic treat for all music lovers.
We hope you will join us often during the year to celebrate the arts in a unique setting. We recommend that you consider enjoying a fine meal before or after the concert at one of the fine eateries in quaint downtown Westfield and the surrounding area. Most are located within a short walk from the gallery. Proceeds from each event benefit theatrical programming efforts at TEATRO Si, a 501(c)3 New Jersey non-profit corporation.
