All About Saffron
Join us for a saffron-filled evening. Buddy Born, member of Aqua Terra and proprietor of Bacstrom Importing (www.bacstrom.com) will educate us about how saffron is grown and harvested, differences in growing regions, challenges in importing saffron and what he's learned from 20 years in the business.
Joyce Goldstein (also an Aqua Terra member), chef and cookbook author, former owner of Square One and author, appropriately, of Saffron Shores, will (with the assistance of Barbara Haimes, also of Aqua Terra) cook several dishes using saffron. She'll help us learn how to cook with saffron and suggest recipes that showcase its subtle flavor.
