PRESENTATION: SPU COMBINED SEWAGE OVERFLOW (CSO) PROGRAM
Keith and Hanif will present and overview of SPU's 17-year, $650-million program to protect Seattle's waterways through SPU's Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) Program. They will discuss Seattle's drainage and wastewater system, organization of the CSO program, and the challenge of meeting many regulatory milestones. They will also discuss several specific functions including project management, project controls, and cost estimating. Keith will discuss some of the successes and challenges in the program, including schedule and cost management. Hanif will also discuss changes underway at SPU to improve the project controls across the organization.
PRESENTOR: KEITH A. WARD, P.E.
Keith Ward, P.E. has more than 20 years of project-delivery experience in the private and public sectors. Keith leads a team of project managers focused on successfully delivering more than $275 million in drainage and wastewater infrastructure projects at Seattle Public Utilities (SPU). He is also the Project Delivery Manager for SPU's $650 million program to prevent overflows of raw sewage into local waterways. Keith also led a Project Management Office at SPU for five years to improve delivery of SPU's $1.1 billion capital delivery system.
In his free time, Keith enjoys alpine climbing in the surrounding mountains throughout the summer months and skiing in the winter months. He also enjoys traveling with his family and volunteering with several local non-profits.
PRESENTOR: HANIF M. KHAN
Hanif Khan has more than 20 years of experience in project management and project controls for engineering, procurement and construction of energy projects. In recent years, he managed a 650MW power generation project in Newark, NJ and led a consortium of contractors for delivering two 500MW power projects in Iraq. At Seattle Public Utilities, Hanif is leading project controls and performance management teams on a portfolio of 70+ active projects totaling over $1 billion and ranging from under $1 million up to $300 million.
Hanif has a MS in Construction Management from University of Washington, PMP from Project Management Institute (PMI), and CCP from AACE.

COST: The member price for this event is $28.00 if you register before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting; late registration is $33.00. Non-members will be charged $36.00 before 12:00 Noon on the Monday immediately preceding the meeting, and $41.00 thereafter.
MENU: You may order a Char Grilled Halibut Filet, Pan Seared Steak Sukiyaki, or Vegetarian (requires one week advance notice) dinner.
