Michael J. Mudroncik is our IRS liaison for assisting small business and self-employed individuals. Before taking this position, he was a Revenue Agent and conducted examinations of sole proprietorships, corporations and partnerships with total assets of less than $10 million. Michael has a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, an MBA from DePaul University and is completing his Masters in Taxation at DePaul.

The IRS is proposing new registration, testing and continuing education requirements for tax return preparers not already subject to oversight. The Tax Return Preparer Initiative would require all paid tax return preparers who must sign a federal tax return to register with the IRS and obtain a Preparer Tax Identification Number. These preparers would also be subject to a limited tax compliance check to ensure they have filed their own tax returns and paid the tax due on those returns. If you prepare tax returns, this program is a must. Come learn all the recommendations the IRS wants to implement through new regulations.
