Solitude amidst motion, the fragility of the human spirit, sadness, and resilience. The collective cultural consciousness embedded in each bodyâs memory, excavated and explored. This piece draws on inspirations and imagery from art, poetry, nature, and our own dreams and visions, rendered in a unique blending of spiritual and cultural contents.
Sharon Stern Siegel is a performer, choreographer, director, and teacher. She holds an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO, where she worked closely with Barbara Dilley and Katsura Kan. She has performed solo work at the San Francisco Butoh Festival and Bare Bones Butoh, and has also worked recently with Boulderâs Syzygy Butoh. She is an avid swing and blues dancer, as well as an advanced-certified yoga practitioner.
Aleh was created during a Performing Artist Residency at PHCA.
