Band in Seattle live television taping with The Hoot Hoots and The Jesus Rehab
Come participate in the taping of the television/web program "Band in Seattle" with The Hoot Hoots and Jesus Rehab - Thursday, February 5th, 2015 , sponsored by Naked City Brewing and American Music. Each band will perform a 45 minute concert and participate in an interview program, "Sound Proof". Doors open at 6PM at Victory Studios, 2247 15th Avenue West between Queen Anne and Magnolia in Seattle. The show starts at 7PM and ends at approximately 10PM. Admission will include two free beers provided by sponsor Naked City Brewing and soft drinks and snacks.
The Hoot Hoots: Seattle power pop quartet The Hoot Hoots are irresistible party starters. Their songs are powered by fuzzy guitars, fuzzier keyboards, and headhum-inducing hooks, and all these combine in a glorious, slightly insane energy in both their live shows and in their album, Colorpunch, out November 19.
Seattle Weekly has compared them favorably to the Shins, the Deli Seattle Magazine has praised them for their "flashy, out-of-control pop sensibilities," and Seattle radio 90.3 KEXP named their song "Go For a Walk" their Song of the Day, calling it a "briliant pop tune and nothing you should skip out on". Think vintage Flaming Lips with a splash of NES and a dash of the Unicorns, and you get the idea. -Seattle Weekly
The Jesus Rehab are a Seattle two-piece (brothers!) whose power melodies and driving pop are the perfect soundtrack to an all-night party where you a) get drunk and pick a fight with your best friends, b) continue drinking, but apologize profusely, c) end the night hugging and/or screaming "I LOVE YOU" to everyone you know, then d) wake up wearing nothing but your old Weezer shirt. Their new record, The Zoo At Night, focuses on issues such as, "mind-reading lizards, chubby 10-year-olds, and what its like to grow up in a world where no one is as they seem." Duh. The Stranger
The Jesus Rehab: The Jesus Rehab, or more specifically brothers Jared and Dominic Cortese, have done something that all good bands do: By sounding like so many disparate sources, they end up sounding distinct. At the end of the day, it might be easy to just call this a rock record, but that's just a cop-out. How about indiegarmetalcore? -Seattle Weekly
