Take the "A" Train
All aboard! Get on the lively A-Train and travel back in time to the exciting and soulful days of The Harlem Renaissance. We'll stop for poetry & prose, comedy skits, songs and live music! Join three time Emmy-Award winning storyteller/entertainer Bobby Norfolk & guest artists as we bring to life the dazzling days of the Harlem Renaissance. This show also features members from the UMSL/Wash U Jazz band including Tom George on piano! This show highlights such greats as Langston Hughes, W. E. B. Dubois, Booker T. Washington, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Billie Holiday, Eubie Blake, NAt King Cole, Josephine Baker, Duke Ellington & more!
The finale includes Bobby Norfolk's crowd pleasing Bird's Word by The Last Poets.This will be a performance of passion and poetry complete with several jazz songs from the era. Your ticket price also includes free drinks from the bar. Can't beat that! Get out of the cold and come in for VERY hot performance!
