NFCT Gala
The North Fork Community Theatre (NFCT) would like to invite you to join us for the Second Annual NFCT Building on Tradition Gala on Friday June 11th at Martha Clara Vineyards at 7PM. The Gala will feature the food, entertainment and spirit of the North Fork including live Broadway Musical performances by members of the NFCT.
For over 50 years the NFCT has presented live theatre on the North Fork enchanting audiences with comedy, drama, musicals, and a lively spirit while building a strong community of volunteers and supporters. Thirty years ago the NFCT added a summer Youth on Stage program, and since then more than 700 talented young members ages 14 to 22 have performed to regularly sold-out houses. The NFCT is a place where performers and audience members, both young and old, meet others with a similar love of theater; it is a place where all can belong and flourish.
Based on a solid foundation of committed volunteers, enthusiastic audiences, and dedicated donors, in 2008 the NFCT started the Building on Tradition campaign to find and fund a permanent home. This past fall the NFCT announced the fabulous news that it is in contract to purchase our Home Sweet Home the building we have performed in for almost 50 years. The NFCT has until 2012 to raise the money to purchase the building; We are encouraged by the strong response of the community to the announcement that we will be able to stay in our Home Sweet Home. $190,000 has already been raised towards our campaign goal of $750,000. We would like to thank you for your support which enables the North Fork Community Theatre to continue to be a vibrant community resource.
During this year's Gala we honor Lee Davis, whose vast contributions to the theatre community on the East End of Long Island include his roles as a playwright, musical theatre historian, director, radio personality and theatre critic. We hope that you will attend the NFCT Gala this June 11th (reserve a table and bring your friends along) and join with us in Building on Tradition celebrating our past and looking towards the future!
