Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing. Dancing barefoot on our sprung hardwood floor is recommended, but you may wear non-scuff shoes if preferred.
We also recommend that you bring:
* A bottle of drinking water to help keep yourself hydrated. Water will also be available onsite. * A hand towel to dry off if you tend to sweat when dancing/exercising. * A desire to move your body!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Alisha Blau (all events) is a gifted dancer and an inspiring movement teacher who integrates the experience of physical sensation with energetic healing and spiritual awakening. Alisha skillyfully leads a room full of dancers with all levels of experience into an exploration of body awareness and expression that is uplifting, rejuvenating and unforgettable. Bombgoddess (May 7) is a sonic shamaness and dance floor ritualist weaving a wicked blend of electro-tribal grooves, melodic dubhop, and chunky beats, with a penchant for the cosmic sprinkled with a heavy dose of goddess juju spark and sass.
DJ Skwint (April 9) has much more to offer than your regular hip-hop mix DJ. With his eclectic interest in many genres of music including hip-hop, funk, soul, jazz, reggae, pop, electro house, world and many others, Skwint brings a unique mix of smooth blends and his nationally ranked scratching ability. DJ Skwint has recently joined forces with Tevya Jones aka Wisdom and are promoting their new CD. Janet & Bean from Maze Daiko will accompany DJ Skwint at various times throughout the evening with bursts of high energy Taiko drumming. http://djskwint.com
Davida Taurek (June 11) is known for her eclectic heartfelt style of music as she takes people on a journey through the soundscapes of ambient, hip-hop, house, trance, world beats and more.
Maze Daiko (April 9 & May 9) Janet Koike and Tina *bean* Blaine add bursts of Japanese Taiko and live percussion to the evening's kinetic spice. More about Maze Daiko
