In celebration of Women's History Month, Mahogany Ensemble Theatre continues its 5th Anniversary Season of Plays with 'Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery' by Shay Youngblood presented by M.E.C.C.A Foundation. 'Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery' is a moving drama that tells the story of a young black girl's coming of age in the South in the 1960s who was raised by women in the community, some blood related, some not. Her vivid memories of growing up--recalling the rituals, the faith healings, the stories she was told and the lessons she learned about survival, healing, deep faith and mystery.
