Studio Six Acting Workshops
Members of Studio Six are teaching a two day workshop on Monday and Tuesday, April 5th and 6th at Theatre Project in Baltimore.
Two different graduates of The Moscow Art Theater School (MXAT) and founders of Studio Six conduct each session. We take on different approaches to these exercises, and for people who repeat the second day, the workshop will build on their experience from one day to the next.
Two-Day Workshop Fee: Monday, April 5, 2010 7 pm 10 pm $25 Tuesday, April 6, 2010 7 pm 10 pm $25
To pay cash or check at the door, RSVP by e-mail to karen@studiosixnyc.org Or purchase in advance online and pay only $20!
We stress the importance of working with a partner as an avenue to explore ensemble acting. Our workshops have as their core the following:
Relaxation exercises and basic meditation * Emotional memory and emotional awareness * Stage awareness * Partner and stage interaction * Imagination and boldness on stage * Exploring tempo-rhythm as an actors tool in the creation of a role * Creative games and stage freedom * Identifying, creating, and living in different atmospheres on stage
Our workshops encompass the training methods and techniques of the Moscow Art Theater School as taught by the Masters at the school today. Exercises are approached as they were taught to us by Mikhail Lobanov, Master Professor of Acting at the MXAT School through a system of training that incorporates Michael Chekhov's research, Vakhtangov and Meyerhold exercises with the Stanislavsky System.
We welcome students 16 years of age and older.
