Forest Assessment for Real Estate Professionals
This course is designed to provide real estate professionals with a foundation of forestry knowledge to assist their clients in the buying and selling of wooded properties. You will learn to assess properties for tree health, wildlife issues, invasive species issues, restoration needs, wildfire risks, and potential recreational and income opportunities. This course will also cover current use taxation for forestry, including designated forestland and Public Benefit Rating Systems (PBRS), which can provide qualified property owners with significant tax savings. The course will cover how to apply for these programs, how to file a continuance when buying/selling a property that is already enrolled, and how to put together a required forest management plan. This course is approved for 15 real estate continuing education clock hours.
